How to Do Gallery Night Providence
Gallery Night Providence is a free,
fun-filled introduction to Providence’s exciting art scene!
On the third Thursday of the month, from March through November,
over two dozen of the city’s hot "art spots" open their
doors - inviting you to a visual arts party.
RIDE THE ART BUS
Theme-dedicated bus tours leave at 5:20, 5:40, 6:00, 6:20, 6:40, and 7:00 pm. Tours stop at approximately 4
galleries each and run about 2 hours. Parking is free at our central location at One Regency
Plaza located at the end of Greene (2nd parking lot on the left)
in back of the Providence Public Library. You can also pick up the bus from any one of your favorite
galleries. Be sure to catch the last bus
to return you to your car.
Gallery Night Guides are stationed
at Regency Place and ride the Art Busses. They offer information
about different art exhibitions and point out the city’s historic
and architectural treasures.
Celebrity Guided Tours offer a chance to mix and mingle
with people who care deeply about art. Celebrity Guides run the
gamut from the curators and academics who shape opinions about art
to the artists whose lives' work is giving form to their passion.
Take a tour and follow in the footsteps of someone who thinks a
lot about art and enhance your personal point of view. As always,
we end the season in November with our one-of-a-kind art shopping
tour. Call us at 401 490-2042 for up-to-date information. [more]

the evening's exhibitions. Choose the exhibits that interest you
the most and drive directly to the parking
lot nearest the gallery of your choice.
BIKE
Art Bike Tours are available in the summer
months. Looking for an affordable alternative
to driving? Ride your bike to Regency Place and meet up with other
avid art bike fans.
WALK

parking lots situated conveniently throughout the city
and stroll from gallery to gallery, enjoying the Providence skyline
and the historic city streets. Use the brochure
maps to discover all the artistic amenities within walking distance.
Guided Walking Tours are available starting from One Regency Plaza weather
permitting and last about an hour.
Information Center
Gallery Night Providence has a central
Art Bus depot and information booth at
the Regency Plaza in downtown Providence, offering us a lovely
indoor location for those rare less-than-perfect evenings
in Providence. Art Busses pick up and
depart from in front of the lobby, under the red awning that reads
One Regency Place. The Gallery Night information table will be set
up inside the lobby and Gallery Night guides will be there to assist
you with any questions.
Where the Regency Plaza is located is best described, in true Rhode
Island fashion, as directly behind where the old Providence Police
Station used to be, kitty-corner from the rear of the Providence
Public Library on Greene Street, a hop, skip, and a jump from the
Dunkin Donuts Center.
Park Free
at the Regency Plaza Info Center or at any one of the Gallery Night Parking lots situated conveniently throughout
the city [see map] and walk to your favorite gallery. Use the brochure maps to discover the galleries, museums,
art spots, and parking lots just a short walk from one another.
Park your car in the designated lot for Gallery Night at Regency
Place, the second parking lot on the left.
