DESCRIPTION
Located on Wayland Ave, in Providence's captivating East Side, the
Bellini Ruggeri Gallery is a place where passersby find cause to
stop and explore the various artwork within. Having only opened
in October of this past year, we are still new to many, but those
who have ventured in, leave delighted.
From the busy sidewalk, peer in the gallery's front
window to see a simple yet elegant room whose walls serve as home
to many pieces of fine art. On a bi-monthly schedule, different
featured artists' work can be found on display, however pieces from
the gallery's more permanent collection can always be seen. This
includes works from Angelo V. Rosati; an Italian painter and sculptor
whose reverence for life always played a role in the art he created,
Christopher Zhang; an oil painter dedicated to realism with an unmatched
use of light and dark, Nino Di Simone; a contemporary Italian master,
Inez Conti; a painter whose use of bold colors enliven the most
simple still life, Sarah Detweiler; an up and coming graphic inspired
abstract artist who's currently showing at the Whitney Museum, Peter
Morse; a locally based sculptor and painter who draws inspiration
from relationships of unrelated objects or ideas, and many pieces
from Rhode Island Masters including Antonio Cirino, H.A. Dyer, G.
Whitaker, and a variety of other accomplished artists round out
the collection.
The goal of the gallery is to create a warm and welcoming
environment where art enthusiasts can come to enjoy an eclectic
grouping of high quality fine art.
During the first Gallery Night of the new year, the
Bellini Ruggeri Gallery will be between shows, so any and all of
the previously mentioned art will be on display, along with several
unmentioned treasures.
